Esther Gerritsen wrote theatre texts for Het Syndicaat, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, Het Gasthuis, Victoria and Keesen & Co. She was considered to be one of the most promising Dutch theatre authors before she started focusing on writing novels and screenplays for film and television.
