At a very young age, Bonnie knows that she is destined to rise above average. At the age of eleven, she jumps over a garden gate and levitates for a few seconds before she transforms into a gigantic, ugly pigeon. She realises that she now belongs to the group of heroes who can avert disaster and save people from accidents. After rescuing others, she always turns into the inconspicuous girl she is. Her loved ones are worried about Bonnie’s growing madness, except for her friend Ine, who can’t live without their friendship.
An oppressive tragedy […] What Gerritsen manages to conjure up through modest means is more than terrifying. It is horrifying.
